24 Days to go to the NYC Marathon

After over a week off due to a calf strain, I resumed running tonight.  I could have used a more time to heal, but I can't sit back and watch the days count down with no training.  I need to put some mileage on again quickly so that I don't suffer too harshly on Marathon day.  I felt great on the run tonight.  I still have a little pain in my left calf but other than that I felt like a million bucks.  I was really surprised how good I felt and even though my mileage base has dropped drastically I am confident I'll be okay on November 7.  I just need to continue to nurture the injury and build back up in the days left.  I have it on a bag of ice and i'll continue ice therapy with some stretching and massage.
